Get StartedLearn more about 211 Texas Information and Referral Network by viewing the videos below. When you are ready to search for resources, follow the steps below.
Types of Searches:
1) Guided Search
2) Search by term
3) Search by program and agency name
Note: For the search results page to narrow down resources based on your geographical location and the coverage area in which the agency provides services, please use both the zip code field and geographic area field, as shown below.
Steps to search for resources:
Step 1) Place zip code and/or county in the field(s) under “Look for a resource in or near a location.”
Step 2) Place your zip code or county in the field under “Geographic Area Served.”
Step 3a) If a Service term was not selected on the “Home Page”, either through the Search by Term or Guided Search, search and select a term under “Search by Service.”
Step 3b) If you are searching for a specific program or agency, search by keyword (i.e., agency/program name) under “Search by Keyword” instead of searching by Service Term.
Step 4) After the required/optional/alternatives search criteria fields are completed, hit search.
Step 5) Review results. Ensure the service/program you are viewing serves your physical location. This information can be found in the service/program’s snapshot under “Area Served.” Area Served means the service/program only provides services for that physical location.
